Many beautiful birds have been sighted in the Boundary region of British Columbia, which for purposes of this birding gallery, stretches from Rock Creek to Grand Forks. Like the world famous Okanagan, the Boundary is home to an extremely diverse population of birds.
The Bird Gallery has been arranged in 11 groups (orders), containing all the species of land and shorebirds that have been sighted in the Boundary region over the course of our local survey.
Each week we post new arrivals at the top of the page. Click for the full-size version, and to see the entire collection of each species, also linked from the main index, below.
Please join us in adding to the collection, sharing your own local sightings. We love to recieve photos of new birds not yet included in the gallery, but you're also invited to send us your best shots of species already shown here.
Let us know, whenever possible, what month/year you made the sighting, and where (general location). We also invite corrections and suggestions on identification. With fast-moving little birds, identification can seem more like art than science (especially for those of us new to birding), and we greatly appreciate input from more seasoned birders.

The Greenwood Phoenix: Built in the 1960's by Bruno Berticevich, a welder working at the Granby.
He fabricated the Phoenix for a Labor Day parade. It was originally installed at City Hall, and later moved to Miner's Park on Highway 3.
