May 20, 2017 — GREENWOOD, BC (BG)

This video clip will contain some familiar locations and faces. It consists of out-takes from silent 16mm film footage shot by Vancouver filmmaker Alfred E. Booth, ca. 1939. The first sequence (0:07 - 1:21) shows Greenwood, local residents, and a baseball team. The next segment (1:22 - 3:15) is thought to depict Phoenix. (At 1:22 - 1:45, there are two shots of an unidentified structure.)

Following 3:16, the locations of the painting, farming and river scenes are unknown. These are edited excerpts from the compilation reel "[Kootenay-Boundary area] : [footage and out-takes]" in the Alfred E. Booth fonds at the BC Archives/Royal BC Museum
